Yeah so not from a story point of view but from a loot point of view. Harrowmont want s you to fight in the proving bhelen sends you to the deep roads. You gain the quest betrayed from within by taking this route. The last fight you may call baizyl and gwiddon to your side.

The fighters in the proving are pretty easy to stun so you should be able to take them out of the fight quickly and then finish them off. Mages will need to be careful about being hit by the strong dwarf fighters but any half decent mage should be able to stun freeze or paralyze your opponents. This time i sided with bhelen. Here it is suggested that the dwarf noble has a good relationship with their younger brother while they both are on bad terms with trian.

At the moment i would probably go with bhelen as i am playing an evil character but if harrowmont gives out better loot i might have to rethink this decision.

They encounter bhelen alongside trian their older brother as the duo are perusing the market stalls in the diamond quarter. I cant find a post but somebody described how you can side with bhelen and still open proving grounds do proving fights and still side with bhelen after. The way the harrowmonts will secure the throne will be through the proving the coliseum like location where combatants do their best to impress their dwarven ancestors. I cant find it and was wondering if somebody could walk me through how to do this.

Bhelen is ruthless but he does actually improve the lot of the poorer dwarves harrowmont is mostly a incompetent boob story wise. As you leave the proving vartag awaits you and you cannot choose bhelen anymore unless you persuade vartag that you have gained the trust of harrowmont and can now get more information for him.
